Mr. Smith lives out of town and has an adult child, Bob, who lives in the Toronto area. Bob has a major mental illness and lives in his own apartment. Mr. Smith is worried about the lack of support for Bob and worries about his health, well being and living situation. Mr. Smith hires Compass Mental Health Services to do weekly home visits to monitor Bob’s mental and physical health, attend/book doctors appointments and help to manage Bob’s day to day living. Mr. Smith calls Compass to get regular updates.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones have demanding jobs which keeps them away from home for long periods of time. Mrs. Jones’ mother lives with them in a basement apartment. She has is depressed and spends much of her time alone watching TV. The Jones’ hire Compass Mental Health Services to do home visits during the day to check in on her, monitor her physical and mental health, take her to appointments, take her for daily walks, encourage her to engage in activities/programs to improve mood and monitor her medications.
The Stall family are lost as to what to do about their son David. David has been arrested for assault while he was psychotic, off his psychiatric medication and taking street drugs. He was in jail and was recently deemed not criminally responsible for his crime by the court. The Stall family hired Compass Mental Health Services to advise the family on Law and Mental Health issues and navigated them through the process. Compass also followed David through the process, arranged for housing and got him connected with a lawyer and a psychiatrist .
